AUTUMN YOGA DAY – Saturday 26th October 2019
We will indicate sessions at the beginning and end of the day which are for everyone. For the rest of the day, you get to choose: be very physical, be peaceful or learn a new practice to improve you and your lifestyle.
Heather’s workshops are as follows:
- 10:00 – 11.15 Tejas the element of fire heating the body through twists and focusing on leaving behind that which is not helpful to our flourishing into gratitude and happiness
- 11:30 – 12.30 Gratitude to the body – Yoga is awareness, a general sequence that focuses on becoming more aware of listening to your body in order to practice from a place of knowing. Becoming more aware of how you treat and speak to your living vehicle the physical body. Then showing your body a little TLC.
- 14:30 – 15.30 Opening the Purva Sutra. We live in times when the front body is contracted. We embody how we are feeling so if we change the body we can equally change our emotional state. Opening the Purva Sutra can be energising, confidence giving, and heart opening leading to a lifted sense of well being and happiness. Come and explore.
Em-Powered Yoga with Eve
This session will be a heart lifting, pulse raising power-vinyasa-flow session. Eve is an expert in the flow of dynamic yoga and she’ll encourage you to challenge yourself and feel empowered in the process.
This is a dynamic session for improvers.
Breath in Movement Workshop with Brenda Louw
This workshop with Brenda will explore some anatomy and physiology of breath, have a peek at breath as mentioned in the Yoga Sutras and Hatha Yoga Pradipika, introduce Buteyko and how to breathe optimally in an asana practice, exercise regime and life in general.
Laughter Yoga with Chrisalis Clowning
Laughter Yoga began in 1995 and it is proven to have significant health benefits. It is a combination of yogic breathing techniques and playful exercises to activate laughter. In ancient China the Taoists taught that a constant inner smile to oneself insured health, happiness and longevity.
Funk and Soul Yoga with Twin Yoga
Daisy will be leading this energising flow session which promises to leave you with a smile on your face and rhythm in your heart. Funk up your flow and unite conscious breath work with plenty of movement all set to a brilliant soulful soundtrack.
Self Love with Katrina Love
After lunch, Katrina will lead an introductory session to LIFECHECK/CHANGE – a programme she developed which shows participants how to reset their negative ‘damaging’ habits by using positive mental programming.
After a 6 week course of two hours per week, the benefits, according to the feedback from participants, include; being less fearful, less anxious, being more confident, more assertive, having more direction and feeling happier.
Dynamic Relaxation with Carole Dru Yoga
With it’s emphasis on soft flowing movements, Dru Yoga can help increase energy levels and wash away stress. It is designed to be practiced by people of all abilities, fitness levels and age groups. This class for after your lunch is especially designed to switch on the body’s rest and digest system (parasympathetic nervous system). It includes the most relaxing of Dru Energy Block Release sequences, with soothing movements, synchronised with the breath, performed whilst lying down! Carole will also then guide you through a deep relaxation, with time at the end to use the Gesture of Acceptance.
Energy Medicine with Diana Malone
Energy Medicine Yoga greatly increase your strength, health and resiliency. The body has 9 energy centres and when in balance, they help to keep you strong, vital, healthy and focused; and especially address your immune, endocrine and lymphatic systems. One of the many benefits of EMYoga is that it greatly enhances a regular yoga practice without increasing the time devoted to it. Di will teach you to incorporate these simple techniques into your existing discipline and you can achieve energy, vitality and balance in a brand new way.
Heart Opening Hatha with Twin Yoga
Join Pippa for a classic Hatha practice that will move your attention into your chest and heart space, where you receive and give love. The session will conclude with a loving and kindness meditation, a popular self-care technique that can be used to boost well-being and reduce stress.
Gong Bath with Jenna Gooding
The day will conclude with a beautiful sound bath where Jenna creates a sacred space for people can explore the landscape and language of vibration and sound within a safely held space. Bring a blanket, socks and jumper to make yourself super comfy.
You will lye down on your yoga mat or sit, it’s up to you. It’s advisable to bring extra padding so you can cocoon yourself in blankets and be super comfortable. Jenna talks you through a relaxation/meditation, you are then bathed in the sounds of the Gongs for a full 45mins and taken on your own personal meditative journey.
Jenna eases you gently back into the space with some percussion instruments and will guide you back with her voice. You can then float away relaxed and rejuvenated at your leisure.
Please be aware that Gong is not suitable if you have a pacemaker or are in the first trimester of pregnancy so a luxurious Yoga Nidra will be the alternative on offer. Please let Twin Yoga know by email email@example.com
